With the advent of the new National Education Policy(NEP) 2020, schools and colleges in our country have been directed to modify their existing curriculum and evaluation methods.

Internal Assessment Program

To make students acquainted with the importance of internal assessments, we reproduce this statement from the circular published by CBSE itself: “In case the pandemic forces complete closure of schools and Board conducted Term I and II exams are taken by the candidates from home in the session 2021-22. Results would be computed based on the Internal Assessment/Practical/Project Work and Theory marks of Term-I and II exams taken by the candidate from home in Class X / XII subject to the moderation or other measures to ensure validity and reliability of the assessment.

Overall View Of CBSE New Curriculum

CBSE writes in its curriculum notification that, “[To] provide ample scope for holistic i.e. physical, intellectual and social development of students” and ” [To] promote critical and creative thinking aligned to the 21st-century skills in classrooms” as two of the ten salient features of the new curriculum. Thus, it is clear from the point that now, CBSE wants the students to go through a rigorous learning practice to inculcate certain essential skills.

With the announcement of a new and revised curriculum, it has become imperative for the students to work hard to score well in their exams. Unlike the previous curriculums, this new teaching model aims to impart skill-based knowledge in the minds of the students of senior secondary classes.

Term-wise examinations in the form of multiple-choice objective questions are going to check students’ in-depth knowledge on various topics of the same subject. It is a healthy step towards the betterment of education in our country.
